I had every good intension of making this one day. It just goes to show you…if you procrastinate long enough, the items become vintage collectibles in mint condition (and available on my shop!). I am the ultimate procrastinator 🙂
I love to crochet. Especially when it starts to get chilly outside…and football starts. I crochet while I watch football…or listen to football anyway. Most of my friends are way past the baby stage, and I really wanted to be able to make baby blankets. I found a group of women, they call themselves “The Caring Ladies“. These women devote hours of their time making blankets and hats for babies at the hospitals around where I live. It’s amazing what they can do with a ball of string. I’ve been working with them for a couple of years now. I recently made this blanket and hat. It turned out so pretty (although I don’t think the hat turned out exactly the same as the pattern, but it’s still cute)…I love that it will keep someone’s baby cozy and warm.
The group is now working on Halloween hats for one hospital in particular. I’ve not made a whole lot of hats. But they actually turned out pretty cute.  The pumpkin hat is just adorable and the cat hat (although it could be a bat hat) turned out a little small. It will fit a Preemies head I think.
I’m working on a witches hat now. We’ll see how that turns out. I wish I could keep up with my Mother. She’s already made 14 hats for the babies. She’s a crocheting machine 🙂 I hope the hospital sends the group some pictures of the babies wearing them. Too cute!
